Seaplane Harbour competed in the category of Cultural/Institutional/Educational projects alongside with schools, universities, religious buildings and museums.
IIDA Global Excellence Awards is a worldwide interior architecture competition that was established to honour and celebrate outstanding originality and excellence in the creation of international Interior Design / Interior Architecture projects. The competition is organized in cooperation with BMW Group Designworks USA that is a creative consultancy that's been driving innovation for over forty years. The works competed in 10 categories and were submitted from 36 countries worldwide.
Andrus Kõresaar accepted the award on behalf of KOKO architects at the awards ceremony in Paris on 25th of January. He noted: “It is a great surprise and a very high recognition. It is good to see that a project from Estonia is featured, especially at a time when China is gaining the upper hand in world design – more than half of the category winners were from Asia. Although I know that the Seaplane Harbour is in many ways world’s best, it is great to hear it from the world’s top professionals.”Previously Centre for Virtual Engineering in Stuttgart (Germany), University of Waterloo in Canada and Urbanian Pavilion at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai (China) have won the award in the same category.
IIDA is a professional networking and educational association of 13,000 members from 50 countries, founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD), the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID), and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). Its goal is to value and stand by the future of innovative and unique design.
